Ten years of Formnext: AM has arrived in the industry

From 18 to 21 November, Formnext 2025 demonstrated Additive Manufacturing’s dynamic evolution to impressive effect. With numerous innovations and pioneering developments, the trade fair presented not only new solutions, but also tangible ways in which companies can use this technology to optimize their production processes and tap into new areas of business. Frankfurt once again became the international meeting place for Additive Manufacturing and other future-oriented production technologies. The atmosphere throughout the halls was consistently positive – among both visitors and exhibitors. Numerous in-depth and professional conversations highlighted the high quality of networking at the event. With record visitor numbers and an even broader range of applications on display, it became clear: Additive Manufacturing has not only established itself in industrial production but is increasingly gaining traction across a wide spectrum of users.

Winners of the 2025 Formnext Awards impress with pioneering technologies and entrepreneurial spirit

The winners of the 2025 Formnext Awards have been announced! On 20 November, this year’s Formnext honored the most outstanding contributions to Additive Manufacturing in six categories. The prizes went to Irena Heuzeroth, SKZ KFE GmbH (AMbassador Award), Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd (Design Award), Laempe Mössner Sinto GmbH ((R)evolution Award), IAM3DHUB – Project „3DMyMask“ (Rookie Award), PERFI Technologies (Start-up Award), and EOS GmbH Electro Optical Systems (Sustainability Award).

Formnext 2025 now under way, offering another impressive showcase of AM’s industrial potential

Formnext 2025 has opened its doors in Frankfurt am Main. From now until 21 November, 803 exhibitors representing the elite of Additive Manufacturing solution providers will be presenting their latest breakthroughs on around 50,000 m² of gross exhibition space. This year’s trade fair turned in an impressive first day, featuring throngs of visitors, exciting world premieres, and a program that showcased the diversity of AM along the entire process chain.

Formnext celebrates 10 years with extended event program

To commemorate its 10th birthday, Formnext – the world's largest trade fair for Additive Manufacturing and the next generation of production – is expanding its event program. Along with the successful formats attendees have come to expect, including three stages, numerous special showcases, the Formnext Awards, a featured partner country (Spain), and specialized seminars and events, new highlights such as focused trade fair tours, live AM shows, and interactive features are set to be added this year.

Formnext Awards Finalists: Innovative AM technologies, pioneering applications, and educational concepts

By shining a spotlight on faster and more sustainable AM production, pioneering applications from such diverse fields as medicine, mold making, and the oil and gas industry, and new approaches in AM training and education, the Formnext Awards 2025 will once again recognize young innovative companies, sustainable business ideas, and revolutionary technologies across six different categories. The shortlisted finalists will now present their entries online in the run-up to the trade fair and in person at a special showcase at Formnext. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on 20 November 2025. Voting for the public is already open.

Successful kickoff for Formnext 2024: groundbreaking technological developments and world premieres shape the future of Additive Manufacturing

Formnext got off to a successful start today in Frankfurt, where, until 22 November 2024, more than 860 exhibitors from among the international elite of Additive Manufacturing (AM) and modern industrial production will be showcasing their latest products and innovations over a gross exhibition space of over 54,000 m². On its first day, the event attracted a large number of visitors, premiered a series of products and solutions along the process chain, and inspired visitors with a highlight-filled supporting program for various application sectors.

Formnext to be headed by management duo as from November 2024

Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 7 November 2024. As from 1 November 2024, there will be two managers at the helm of the Formnext brand. Christoph Stüker has joined Sascha Wenzler to lead the world’s leading trade fair for Additive Manufacturing and the next generation of industrial production. Formnext Expo & Convention 2024: AM’s global elite set for industry’s next showcase in Frankfurt

While Germany’s own economic situation remains middling and plenty of global challenges persist, Formnext is poised to write the next chapter in its ongoing success story in 2024. The Formnext Start-up Challenge as springboard for creative, innovative, and sustainable AM business ideas

Every year, a host of new companies emerge in the additive manufacturing industry. To give these start-ups a voice among the more established players, Formnext is this year organizing the 8th Formnext Start-up Challenge. In addition to new, creative, and viable business ideas, the subject of sustainability also plays an important role. A young company will therefore also be selected from the applicants to receive the AM Impact Ventures Award. Applications are now being invited from companies that are no more than five years old. The deadline for applications is 1 July 2022 and the winners will be announced in September 2022.

With the innovative development "New Pointe Shoe Sole", Sophia Lindner from act'ble GmbH has won the first prize of the purmundus challenge. Winners of the purmundus challenge were honored yesterday at Formnext. Second prize went to Ramon Mañas, Odisei Music SL, for Travel Sax, while Jamie Cook, Henry Neilson, Theo Clarkes, Mark Brown, Jess Lewis, and George Jary of HEXR won third prize with their project "HEXR, the world's first 3D-printed custom-fitting bicycle helmet."

For the seventh time, the international Formnext Start-up Challenge has recognized young enterprises from the world of additive manufacturing for their innovative business ideas and technical developments. Maximum levels of safety and freedom: Formnext 2021 for the recovered and the vaccinated

Formnext 2021 will be open to those who have recovered from or been vaccinated against Covid-19. The decision was reached by the organizer, Mesago Messe Frankfurt, in consultation with the Exhibitor Advisory Board. The legal framework for this move is provided by the state of Hesse's Corona Protection Ordinance, which allows organizers the choice of applying the German “3G rule” (access for tested, recovered and vaccinated persons) or the German “2G rule” (recovered and vaccinated persons only).

Formnext 2019: additive manufacturing inspires with best perspectives

34,532 specialists and managers (2018: 26,919) were swept away by an impressive Formnext 2019. 852 exhibitors (2018: 632) made Messe Frankfurt the stage for the ever-increasing fields of application of additive manufacturing. The move to the modern and architecturally-sophisticated exhibition halls 11 and 12, which was due to strong growth, has thus proved its worth.

3D-printed security key wins first prize of the purmundus challenge at the Formnext 2019

With his project "Stealth Key" Dr. Alejandro Ojeda from UrbanAlps AG won the first prize of this year's purmundus challenge at the Formnext 2019 in Frankfurt. Using Stealth Technology, Ojeda has created a physical key and cylinder system in which the code is neatly hidden under robust, narrow projections. As the key cannot be scanned, it offers maximum security and works independently of digital systems.
