"Especially in times when the competitive landscape is becoming increasingly challenging for many companies, Additive Manufacturing can make the decisive difference – by either making in-house production more efficient or improving products and the value they offer," explains Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President for Formnext at the event’s organizer, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. "Companies from a wide range of industries will find the technology and knowledge this requires at Formnext, along with contacts that make it possible to launch new innovations with the help of AM," adds Christoph Stüker, also Vice President for Formnext at Mesago Messe Frankfurt. Formnext once again promises a high level of technological innovations and world premieres from exhibitors in 2025, accompanied by program highlights that offer a practical and application-oriented perspective on the possibilities of AM and its user industries, amongst others aviation and aerospace, mechanical and plant engineering, and jewelry and watches. Visitors will have the chance to find out about the most important innovations and applications in person while gaining even deeper insights at the stage program, conferences, showcases, and other program items.

Partner country: Spain

This year’s partner country, Spain, will present itself at Formnext 2025 with numerous innovative exhibitors. Besides boasting a highly dynamic and rapidly growing AM industry, the Iberian nation also acts as a bridge between Europe and Latin America due to its geographical location. Spain is traditionally one of the strongest exhibitor countries at Formnext, and around 30 companies are expected to attend the 2025 event. The Spanish AM industry is particularly strong in the areas of AM systems, materials, and R&D.

A diverse lineup of supporting events

Formnext 2025’s supporting program is set to impress with its outstanding quality and wide range of topics. The presentation lineup which is open to all attendees will be held across three stages and offer numerous opportunities for professional interaction. Renowned experts will discuss current and future applications, technologies, and trends in AM and the manufacturing industry at large. The Industry Stage is dedicated to overarching topics that affect the AM sector, such as sustainability, the industrialization of AM, and design for AM. On the Application Stage, AM users will share their experiences and expertise. And finally, exhibitors' innovations will be presented on the Technology Stage. In addition, the already established and very popular Discover3DPrinting seminars, which are held in cooperation with ACAM (Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing), will take place daily on the Application Stage. Here, newcomers to AM production can gain an overview and important insights. Deep dives are also planned on the topics of large-format plastic 3D Printing, the rise of DED technology, data-driven design, and the scaling of 3D Printing.

Meanwhile, the Formnext Awards will once again honor young innovative companies, sustainable business ideas, and groundbreaking technologies in six different categories. As usual, the public will be invited to take part in the voting (starting from the beginning of October). The finalists' exhibits will be shown both online in the run-up to the trade fair and at a special show, and the winners will be chosen at a festive award ceremony on 20 November 2025. In the Start-up Area and at the Young Innovators booth, which is being organized in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK), young, innovative companies will be able to present themselves and make important contacts – including with potential investors and partners. The companies in the Start-up Area will also present themselves at a Pitchnext event on 18 November 2025.

AM Jobs@Formnext – job seekers can explore career opportunities in the AM industry. In addition to the Job Wall, visitors will have the chance to receive career counseling and participate in a professional photo shoot on 20 November. The showcases at Formnext 2025 will provide further in-depth insights into the world of AM applications. The VDMA is presenting on Additive Manufacturing in mechanical engineering, and the BE-AM showcase will use real applications to demonstrate advanced developments in 3D Printing in the construction industry. At the same time, the BE-AM Symposium on 19 November 2025 will cover a variety of background information and future developments in this industry. The AM Innovation and Standards Summit@Formnext, organized by ASTM International, will take place on 17 November 2025, one day before the start of Formnext.
