Presentations, seminars & events

Whether you are a beginner or an expert - Formnext offers a comprehensive program that provides technical and economic insights into the successful adoption of Additive Manufacturing. The stage program, symposia, forums, presentations, seminars and events will help you to deepen and expand your specialist knowledge.

Multistage stage program

The Multistage stage program, which was successfully introduced in 2023, will be continued this year. Current and future applications, technologies and relevant metatrends will be addressed and discussed simultaneously on three stages with different thematic focuses.

Application Stage – a focus on applications

On the Application Stage, exciting applications from various industries will be grouped into different areas, each with four 20-minute presentations. These will cover, amongst others, mechanical and plant engineering, the automotive industry, aerospace, medical technology, electrical engineering, tool and die making, and automation.

Industry Stage – interdisciplinary exchange

The Industry Stage will focus on promoting interdisciplinary exchange between industry experts and sector representatives. Current, seminal issues, such as sustainability and AI, will be presented in a keynote address, explored in greater depth in Expert Insights, and further debated during a panel discussion. The agenda also covers key AM topics such as DfAM (Design for AM), industrialization of AM, business opportunities, startups and funding, as well as current issues of cross-sector importance, such as skills shortages and the industrial metaverse.

Technology Stage –an in-depth approach to the process chain and the AM offer

The dynamic development of generative technologies is also constantly leading to novel solutions from manufacturers and throughout the process chain. These will be showcased by Formnext exhibitors on the Technology Stage. On each day of the show, there will be a morning and afternoon session featuring innovations from the fields of materials, pre-processing, AM production, and post-processing.

AM Innovation and Standards Summit at Formnext, 18.11.

ASTM

Together with ISO, America Makes, and US Commercial Service, ASTM International is organizing the 6th edition of the AM Innovation and Standards Summit at Formnext 2024 to be held on Monday, 18 November at the Frankfurt exhibition ground. The workshop theme is ‘Driving Cost-Effective AM Through Innovation and Standards’.

This one-day workshop at Formnext 2024 is dedicated to discussing the standardization needs for Additive Manufacturing and will enable you to engage with experts to discuss standard practices and overcome implementation challenges to drive cost-effective AM. This event is comprised of technical talks, an interactive panel discussion, and a break-out session led by industry leaders from many industry sectors currently using AM.

The workshop is open to all engaged in AM activities, including executives, managers, AM engineers, and technicians from industry, research institutes, academia, and government agencies.

Start-ups live and in color

FON2023_MJ_01286

On 19 November from 2:15 p.m. the participants of the Start-up Area, Young Innovators pavilion as well as the finalists of the Formnext Start-up and Rookie Award will show you at the Industry Stage (hall 11.0, D72), why it is worth investing in them. In short pitches, the start-ups will present their innovative products.

More information about the program of the Pitchnext event you will find in the event calendar.

Discover3DPrinting seminars & Deep Dives

FON2022_MJ_9406

Discover Additive Manufacturing – with our Discover3DPrinting seminar, which we organize in cooperation with ACAM – Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing. Here you can get a comprehensive overview of the technologies and its applications – perfect for your entry into AM. The seminars are held in German and English and take place on the Application Stage.

New: Discover3DPrinting Deep Dives on 4 days of the exhibition

In 2024, there will be one Deep Dive lecture per day on the Technology Stage for the first time. They are the perfect complement to the entry-level Discover3DPrinting seminars. They allow you to delve deeper into selected topics. Lectures are planned on the following key topics:

Day 1: "Design for AM – Innovative product development methods“
Day 2: "Industrializing AM – Advanced production planning“
Day 3: "Surface treatment – More than just post-processing“
Day 4: "AM Materials – Advancements in material development“

Registration for the deep dives is not necessary.
