Messe Frankfurt is centrally located in the heart of Europe and, above all, in an ideally connected city location in Frankfurt. Thanks to its excellent transport connections, Messe Frankfurt can be reached quickly and easily by air, train or car.

Your Formnext ticket also entitles you to travel by public transport for free. Tickets that bear the symbol of the RMV network are also valid for travel on public transportation.

Arriving by train

Arrive relaxed - travel CO2-free. Travel quickly, comfortably and cheaply with the DB event ticket. Our cooperation with Deutsche Bahn enables you to travel to Formnext at special rates. You can find more information in the section travel specials.

From Frankfurt Central Station…

Frankfurt Central Station is only a few hundred metres away from Messe Frankfurt. The underground station there provides fast connection with suburban train (S-Bahn) and underground train (U-Bahn), tram or on foot. If you are travelling to Frankfurt (Main) Airport long-distance train station, please follow the recommendations under "Arrival by plane".

... continuing by S-Bahn (suburban train)
Take the S-Bahn lines S3 (direction Bad Soden), S4 (direction Kronberg), S5 (direction Bad Homburg/Friedrichsdorf) or S6 (direction Friedberg/Groß Karben). After two stops you will reach the S-Bahn station “Frankfurt (Main) Messe”. The "Torhaus" entrance takes you to the exhibition grounds.

... continuing by underground train (U-Bahn)
Take the line U4 (direction Bockenheimer Warte). Travel one station to “Festhalle/Messe”. Once there, you can access the exhibition grounds via the "City Entrance" and a free shuttle bus will take you directly to the Formnext halls.

… continuing by tram
With tram lines 16 and 17. You can reach the tram stop by going out the main exit of Frankfurt Central Station and crossing the station forecourt. The destination, “Festhalle/Messe” is the third stop. Once there, you can access the exhibition grounds via the "City Entrance" and a free shuttle bus will take you directly to the Formnext halls.

… continuing on foot
This is a 10-minute walk from Düsseldorfer Strasse via Platz der Republik and Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage. The pyramidal top of the Messeturm tower will help you to find your bearings. Just a short walk away, you will find the “City Entrance” and a free shuttle bus will take you directly to the Formnext halls.

... continuing by taxi
Frankfurt Central Station is only a few hundred meters away from the "City Entrance" of Messe Frankfurt. After entering the exhibition grounds, a free shuttle bus will take you from the "City Entrance" to the Formnext halls. The distance from the main railway station to the Portalhaus/Gate West entrance is approx. 6 km. Here you are immediately at the Formnext venue.

From Frankfurt (Main) Airport Regionalbahnhof ...

Many Deutsche Bahn connections now also stop at Frankfurt (Main) Airport Fernbahnhof (long-distance train-station). Local public transport will take you from the Frankfurt (Main) Airport Regionalbahnhof (regional train station) to the Frankfurt Central Station.

From Frankfurt (Main) Airport Regionalbahnhof (regional train station), the S-Bahn lines S8 and S9 leave for Frankfurt Central Station every 15 minutes (journey time approx. 10 minutes). From there, you can reach the exhibition center in less than 5 minutes with the U4 or the S3/S4/S5/S6.

... continuing by taxi
It takes about 15–20 minutes by taxi from Frankfurt am Main Airport to the exhibition center "Portalhaus / Tor West". 

... and continuing by car
All the more well-known car rental services can be found at the airport. For directions, please follow the signs of our integrated traffic management system. These will show you the shortest way to Messe Frankfurt. Information on parking facilities can be found in the section “Arrival by car”.

Arriving by plane

There are nonstop flights to Frankfurt Airport from many major cities in in the world. Our cooperation with the Lufthansa Group and Air France/KLM also offer special conditions for your flight to Formnext. You can find details in our travel specials.

Arriving by public transport

Thinking of getting to the exhibition grounds by public transport?
It could hardly be easier as the exhibition grounds are located close to the city center and are well connected to the public transport network of the entire Rhine-Main region.

In addition, Formnext tickets bearing the RMV logo give you free use of public transport in the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV).

From the Frankfurt Central Station

S-Bahn lines: S3 (direction Bad Soden), S4 (direction Kronberg), S5 (direction Bad Homburg/Friedrichsdorf) and S6 (direction Friedberg/Groß Karben) to the station Frankfurt (Main) Messe, then to the "Torhaus entrance".

Overview Rhin-Main network (RMV)

The suburban train stations Hauptwache and Konstablerwache are the main transfer stations in Frankfurt city center in addition to the central station. From both stations, the S-Bahn lines S3/S4/S5/S6 will take you to the "Frankfurt (Main) Messe" S-Bahn station in 10 minutes. You can reach Formnext in 5 minutes via the "Torhaus entrance”.

From the airport

Arriving by car

Frankfurt am Main is located in the middle of a dense highway network and is one of Germany’s most important transport hubs. Direct feeder roads provide short, rapid connections between Messe Frankfurt, highways, the city, and the region.

The exhibition grounds are well signposted from the various highway exits. For directions, please follow the signs of our integrated traffic management system. These will show you the shortest way to Messe Frankfurt.

Route planning and parking for exhibitors

The parking spaces for exhibitors' cars (vehicles up to 2.5 tons) are located on P12 (in Hall 12) on the fairground, entrance via Gate West.  Long-term parking permits could be ordered from 1 July via the Messe Frankfurt Shop for Exhibitor Services. On site, long-term parking permits can be purchased on 18 and 19 November for cash at the service partner Apcoa . The counter is located in the Portalhaus, level 0.

Route planning and parking for visitors

The cutting-edge traffic and parking guidance system ensures a stress-free journey and guides you directly to the parking areas. Please follow the signs to the multi-storey car park Rebstock. The parking fee is 18 Euro per day. A free shuttle service is available to take you to the event grounds.

Route planning and parking for Mobility-impaired visitors

Parking spaces for mobility-impaired visitors are available all over the exhibition grounds. People with a disabled parking pass or an “aG” type disability pass for severely impaired mobility are requested not to go to the Rebstock multi-storey car park but rather to the West Gate (Tor West), where our traffic attendants will provide them with a suitable parking space on the exhibition grounds.

Charging stations for electric vehicles

We welcome low-emission electric vehicles. On request, we are happy to reserve a parking space with a charging socket for you.  All charging stations have type 2 connectors. However, as there are only a limited number of charging stations, we would ask you to register in good time by sending an e-mail to emobil@messefrankfurt.com. Please send us the following information in your mail so that we can handle your request without call back:

  • Day(s) of arrival
  • Name of the driver
  • Mobile phone number of the driver
  • License plate of the car
