Additive Manufacturing at VDMA is a network of top class experts from all areas of the additive engineering and manufacturing chain within the mechanical engineering association VDMA e.V.

The VDMA Showcase Additive4Industry and the joint booth will be available for exchange and networking on current topics related to AM, e.g. industrialization, training and market developments. Profitable Industrial Solutions with AM" is this year’s theme of the special showcase: At Hall 12.0, Booth B01, member companies will present successful use cases in Additive Manufacturing that offer economic advantages. These application examples highlight potential savings in development, production, or the use of AM solutions—benefits that are not achievable with traditional manufacturing methods.

AM processes enable the optimized design of machine components through complex internal structures with precision. In addition, special lightweight construction, production in small quantities and the shortest possible time and cost efficiency in development are clear advantages of Additive Manufacturing.

AM Art Space

In cooperation with SUTOSUTO

Malraum_Klebung_Tst_1

Once again this year, the artist duo SUTOSUTO is enriching Formnext with their unique artistic approach: Not only do they design the Formnext Award trophies, but they are also presenting their additively manufactured artworks in a special showcase.

SUTOSUTO is the collaboration of two creative multi-talents—designers, painters, illustrators, digital artists, and sculptors all in one. With a bold mix of materials and a wide range of working and production methods, they push boundaries and create art that inspires new ways of thinking. Their work strikes a compelling balance between aesthetics and concept—and invites viewers to recalibrate their own perception. A truly inspiring contribution to Formnext that demonstrates how art and technology can mutually inspire and elevate one another.

In their own studio in Hamburg, the two artists have, in addition to the obligatory painting, woodworking and varnishing rooms, also set up a 3D Printing workshop, which is constantly being expanded. In addition to large-format canvases, they also create impressive sculptures, some of which are made from upcycled plastic. The entire process, from concept, modeling, printing and reworking to the finished sculpture, is realized in-house.
