Aluminium alloys are standard wise distinguished by their chemical composition into eight different sub groups. In Additive Manufacturing applications a few alloys are already established, e.g. AlSi10Mg and AlSi7Mg0.6.

Aluminium alloy development is required for Additive Manufacturing in order to continuously diversify the available property profiles of alloys for specific application fields.

Besides standard alloys made for mobility technologies (automotive, aerospace, etc) there are specific alloy developments on-going for Additive Manufacturing Technologies.

AlSi10Mg is an Aluminium casting alloy which shows good welding properties due to its chemical composition. The processing properties of the alloy allow production of thin-walled parts for applications in mobility technologies. Those properties are transferred into Additive Manufacturing through the high quality of IMR metal alloy powders.

The casting properties of the alloy allow production of thin-walled parts for applications in mobility technologies, especially in aerospace and space technologies. Those properties are transferred into Additive Manufacturing through the high quality of IMR metal alloy powders.
