Additive manufacturing (AM) has become well established over the past few decades. Features such as contour-shaped cooling geometry would be impossible to conceive and realise without AM in tooling. However, a breakthrough on a large scale in tooling is still pending. This presentation will provide an overview of the current state-of-the-art solutions for tooling applications, showcasing good practice use cases. Furthermore, the future potential of AM in tooling will be highlighted.
