Advancing Personalized Orthopedic and Maxillofacial Care through AI-led Surgical Planning and 3D Printing

18 Nov 2025

Personalized medical solutions provide significant advantages over traditional devices by offering enhanced anatomical conformity and design flexibility, especially for complex surgical interventions.

Despite their promise, the widespread adoption of these technologies faces hurdles, including the need for specialized clinical training, navigating regulatory pathways, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. OsseoLabs, a pioneering spin-off from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, is driving innovation in Southeast Asia by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) with advanced 3D printing technologies. This integration enables the rapid development of patient-specific implants and surgical guides, reducing planning times by up to 90% while boosting surgical precision and efficiency. By directly addressing challenges such as limited healthcare resources and delayed treatment processes, this model offers a practical solution for emerging healthcare systems. This presentation explores how a robust translational ecosystem has been cultivated in Thailand, linking research institutions, clinical practitioners, and regulatory bodies to accelerate innovation. The result is a scalable, patient-centric framework that promotes equitable access to high-precision surgical care and supports the global shift toward AI-enabled, value-driven healthcare.
