Water taxi breaks records

Al Seer Marine and Abu Dhabi Maritime have unveiled the world's first 3D-printed water cab, breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest 3D-printed boat in the process. According to Al Seer, this symbolizes a remarkable leap forward in the field of sustainable transport.

The water cab, which is around 12 meters long and 3.60 meters wide, was made from recycled PIPG (30% fiberglass and UV stabilizer) and offers space for 29 passengers, including the crew. It is due to enter service in Abu Dhabi's water taxi network at the end of 2024.

With the design of the water cab, which also enables the transportation of bicycles and wheelchairs, the manufacturers are emphasizing their commitment to inclusion and the intention to create a transportation solution that serves everyone. 

The boat was created at Al Seer Marine's robotic 3D-printing facility in Abu Dhabi. The world's largest factory of its kind at 40 meters in length, this location also represents the Persian Gulf region's strong dedication to playing a leading role in additive manufacturing (as we reported previously).
