Looking to strengthen brand internationally and get deeper insights into the AM industry

by Thomas Masuch

Despite COVID-19 and the travel restrictions it has caused, several companies from China are set to exhibit at Formnext for the first time this year. Among them is Eplus3D Tech Co., Ltd. from the east-coast city of Hangzhou. Founded in 2014, the company is engaged in the research and development of industrial-grade additive manufacturing systems and application technologies.

A former subsidiary of Shining3D, Eplus3D was the original developer and manufacturer of the industrial 3D printers from this company, including those that work with metal and plastic. In order to drive its further internationalization, Eplus3D Tech established its first foreign branch office in Stuttgart, Germany, this year. The local team will also be present at Formnext, where the company will be pursuing several goals at once. "First, of course, we want to find more potential customers and more opportunities to further strengthen our brand and increase awareness of our company," reports marketing specialist Sally Tao. "Beyond that, it's equally important for us to gain deeper insight into the latest developments and trends in the industry." The team at Eplus3D Tech also chose Formnext to ultimately generate more orders. “We believe that the visitors to Formnext and the industry represented there are a great fit for us as one of China's leading 3D printer manufacturers and industrial AM solution providers," Tao continues.

With its metal powder bed fusion (MPBF) and polymer powder bed fusion (PPBF) technology, Eplus3D plans to showcase application solutions for aerospace, automotive, tooling, healthcare, dental, consumer products, precision manufacturing, and more at Formnext 2021. In China, the company has two facilities, in Beijing and Hangzhou, and it invests more than 20 percent of its annual revenue in scientific research. It says it holds numerous patents, utility models, and software copyrights and has exported its products to more than 40 countries and regions in Europe, the Americas, Japan, South Korea, and southeast Asia.
