AMAZEMET is a spin-off by Warsaw University of Technology specialised in technologies for additive manufacturing and high-temperature ultrasonics.
What do we do?
- rePowder – ultrasonic powder atomization
- SafeEtch - automated support removal
- InFurner - high vacuum furnaces for AM
RePowder uses patented ultrasonic technology to create AM-grade powder in laboratory quantities. The machine is designed to alloy, cast, and atomize metallic material within one setup stating with an arbitrary material form. It uses any feedstock to provide powder production capabilities in every laboratory.
Problem: Gas atomizers are big and hard to use for R&D, other technologies require wire as a feedstock.
Solution: Ultrasonic atomization device allows the user to produce high-quality powder regardless of the initial form of the feed material. Instead of high-velocity gas we use ultrasonic vibration to create AM-grade powder. Depending on the material processed it is melted in the crucible and poured at a vibrating element or melted directly at the sonotrode. Lack of pressurized gas allows for system miniaturization.
SafeEtch uses novel ultrasonic-chemical treatment to dissolve support structures from SLM/DMLS parts. It is designed to automate the most troublesome part of the manufacturing process - finishing.
Problem: Metal-AM postprocessing is difficult and could account for over 50% of the final price.
Solution: The safeEtch allows users to automatically remove supports without mechanical treatment and polishes surfaces even in places inaccessible with classical tools. Technology is based on chemical reactions accelerated with high-intensity ultrasounds.
